The Commodity Buyer builds the supplier panel: select suppliers according to Groups criteria, application of the purchasing panel policy, allocate a status to each supplier. This role manages the supply panel. The Commodity Buyer leads ideas and initiatives in order to improve the global productivity.  The main missions of the role are to:
  • Addresses and resolves various issues which various Faurecia personnel/departments have with the supply base
  • Pursues the most economical costs for goods required, in conjunction with obtaining continual long-term agreement savings opportunities with steel suppliers
  • Performs continual review and evaluation of the current supply base and also new potential suppliers through cross-functional supplier audits/visits based on the criteria provided by Group
  • Monitors of the Supplier Global Performance Measurement in terms of quality and service of the cost via the SBG reporting structures
  • Provides on a monthly basis the tracking of my performance and monthly commodity/activity on the RIO format as supplied by Group
  • Follows market trends for specific commodities and raw materials
  • Prepares market strategies and proposals for various commodities
  • Contributes to the Management of the SBG Approved Vendor List including Vendor Profile, Vendor Approval and R&D assessment procedures
  • Obtains Productivity proposals from Suppliers in order to achieve budget objectives in collaboration with the Plant buyers were appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements
  • Bachelor' s  degree in Engineering or related field, required
  • 5 years of experience in automotive purchasing,  required
  • Experience in motors and gears, required
  • Experience in mechatronics, required
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Engineering or technical knowledge a plus
  • Effective time management
